Have you ever assembled a watch yourself? Now is your opportunity to do so. Under expert guidance, you will step into the fascinating world of watchmaking and personally disassemble and reassemble a classic Unitas pocket watch movement.
A member of our family will open the course with an engaging introduction to the history of the watch industry and the story of our manufactory, Maurice De Mauriac. Afterwards, our experienced watchmakers will take over. They will explain in clear terms what defines a mechanical watch and why it ticks.

Prices
250 CHF per person from a minimum of 2 persons to a maximum of 10 persons
Then it’s time for “Hands On.” Equipped with watchmaking attire and a loupe, you will work directly on the open UNITAS pocket watch movement, which is approximately ten times larger than a standard movement. The watchmaker will carefully disassemble it step by step, explaining each individual component. After that, it’s your turn — together, you will reassemble the movement until it ticks reliably again.
This unique experience is perfect for families, friends, or teams, combining knowledge, craftsmanship, and collaboration in a truly memorable way.
If you later decide to purchase a watch, the course fee will be credited toward your purchase (individual prices cannot be combined).
Build your own watch
Experience the art of watchmaking up close — and take it one step further. Building on our basic watchmaking course, you will create your very own mechanical wristwatch under the expert guidance of our experienced watchmakers.
In approximately two hours, you will assemble your personal timepiece — a truly unique creation that combines precision, craftsmanship, and emotion into one unforgettable experience.
The model available for this workshop is the Züri-Date — the world’s only watch that speaks Swiss German. Available in different sizes and colors, it can be customized to suit your personal taste. Upon request, the rotor can also be individually engraved, for example with your initials, turning your watch into a truly one-of-a-kind piece with lasting sentimental value.

3.900 CHF for the watch plus 500 CHF for the experience.

This unique experience lasts approximately 3 hours in total.

Group & Team Event
Large families, groups of friends, or teams take the opportunity to share a unique experience that not only brings the mechanical watch to life in a tangible way, but also offers a new perspective on time itself.
Working together on the movement is perfectly suited for team building: the group carefully reassembles the mechanism step by step and, at the end, experiences the rewarding moment when it begins to tick again — a powerful symbol of collaboration, precision, and shared success.
For groups of 10 or more, we would be delighted to receive your inquiry and will gladly develop a tailored concept for your event together with you.
