Get to know the world with the best
If you are a hotel guest somewhere in the world and want to feel at home quickly and become an insider, you turn to the concierge. Their knowledge is as legendary as their worldwide organisation Les Clefs d'Or, the Union International des Concierge d'Hôtel. Founded in 1952, this prestigious professional association has realised an exclusive watch with Maurice de Mauriac, developed just for these concierges.
When you see the sign of the prestigious professional association on a concierge's watch, the Clefs D'Or, the golden key, you know that there is hardly anything that is impossible. These concierges know everything and everyone and know where to get what, when to be where and how to get everywhere. Everywhere can be taken literally, as there are over 4000 concierges in 80 countries and at over 500 destinations.
These concierges are only found in first-class five-star hotels and can be recognised by the crossed keys on their lapels. Until now. From now on, these insiders will be increasingly recognisable by their exclusive watch - the Maurice de Mauriac L3 Les Clefs D'Or. This watch is exclusively reserved for members of Les Clefs D'Or.
The L3 Les Clefs d'Or is based on the Tricompax chronograph L3 Spheric Blue with a fumé blue dial. The movement, which is visible through the back of the watch, is mounted by the MdM watchmakers in Zurich either in a stainless steel case with a gold PVD coating or in a silver stainless steel case. The L3 Les Clefs d'Or is characterised by a design inspired by Bauhaus and further developed by award-winning Basel designer Fabian Schwaerzler. He has lent it a smart elegance and placed the Union sign in the hour register at 6 o'clock in a very stylish and harmonious way.
When the watch serves passion
The idea behind Les Clefs d'Or has existed since 1929, but the professional association only became a non-profit organisation in France in 1952. Its members were to be the ‘key to everything a hotel guest wants’. A claim that each of its concierges fulfils with passion. It is precisely this passion for such an extremely specialised service that fascinates us as the family behind Maurice de Mauriac.
If a guest wants to have a wish fulfilled in 15 minutes, a press of the chronograph ensures that it is fulfilled on time. The intensity of the blue gradient of the dial and the elegance with which the watch with its cambered glass gently appears and disappears again, even under perfectly fitted liveries, is captivating every time you look at it.
The colour combination of blue and gold exudes elegance and prestige by combining the calming symbolism of blue with the richness and power of gold. These are the corporate colours of Les Clefs D'Or and had to be implemented by us at the highest level with the L3 Les Clefs D'Or, says Leonard Dreifuss, Creative Director of Maurice de Mauriac. His brother Massimo Dreifuss, CEO of the Zurich-based brand, explains: "Luc Frieseisen, President of Les Clefs d'Or Suisse and concierge at The Dolder Grand Zurich, Jens Maier, concierge at the Park Hyatt Zurich, and Alex Sanchi, concierge at La Réserve Eden au Lac, are fascinated by the watch. They very much appreciate being able to call this watch their watch."
You can experience the exclusivity of this watch in Maurice de Mauriac's atelier in a completely analogue and tactile way. As a concierge of the organisation, you can buy it there directly or order it worldwide via our webshop. If you are not a concierge and love the watch, you can also find it in various colours and materials in the studio at Tödistrasse 48 in Zurich or on the digital shelves of our studio on the Internet at www.mdm-watches.com/L3
