During extreme diving situations, helium atoms make their way into the watch. As such, the process of decompression could dislodge the watch crystal. We use a very individual bronze alloy sourced in Zurich. Bronze is anti-magnetic, resistant to wear, elastic, slightly more brittle, and 10% heavier than stainless steel. Above all, it stands out due to its resistance to seawater. Beneath a layer of oxidized copper, the material offers lasting protection. The discoloration of the bronze is particularly appealing and means that every watch, over time, evolves into a unique piece—one solely influenced by the life of the watch owner. Superluminova is a phosphorescent phosphor, and free of radioactive additives. Superluminova is a hundred times brighter than other inactive luminescent pigments. When the luminescent pigments have been excited by daylight or artificial light, they release the absorbed light energy over several hours in the dark. Fabian Schwaerzler, Swiss designer and purist, has chosen the simple line as the core, clean, minimal design element and thus gave birth to the L-Series. Connecting the line series from the Bauhaus era, to the present Icons of watch design they have since become. His minimalist design allows the watches to be discreetly present, yet in addition, fill the void. Follow the line. This series will show you the beauty of time.
A little story on Sunday: It all started with a parcel that wasn’t delivered...A Portuguese customer’s new watches were not delivered by the parcel service. The parcel began an odyssey and at some point we decided that one of us would take it to Cascais personally.
Of course, you then call Portuguese friends to meet up. Miguel Seabra is one such long-time friend. Miguel, a watch enthusiast, immediately calls a few more watch lovers and we sit together on the beach in Cascais and talk watches and philosophize.
At moments like this, our family expands to include people who share a special love.
…And the conclusion of the story: something good can also come out of something bad.
