Gold-plated Steel
Not all steels are created equal. We use 316L stainless steel; one of the hardest premium steels in the world. In addition to its hardness and resistance, this high-quality steel stands out because of its finish as well as it very fine silver hue. 316L steel has a significantly lower nickel emission than, for instance, 904L steel, which is also a high-strength steel alloy. Superluminova is a phosphorescent phosphor and free of radioactive additives. Superluminova is a hundred times brighter than other inactive luminescent pigments. When the luminescent pigments have been excited by daylight or artificial light, they release the absorbed light energy over several hours in the dark. Fabian Schwaerzler, Swiss designer and as such purist, has chosen the line as a design element and thus designed the L-series, the line series, from the Bauhaus era into the present. They have become icons of watch design. His design allows the watches to be discreetly present, but also to fill the space. Follow the line. It will show you the beauty of time.
A little story on Sunday: It all started with a parcel that wasn’t delivered...A Portuguese customer’s new watches were not delivered by the parcel service. The parcel began an odyssey and at some point we decided that one of us would take it to Cascais personally.
Of course, you then call Portuguese friends to meet up. Miguel Seabra is one such long-time friend. Miguel, a watch enthusiast, immediately calls a few more watch lovers and we sit together on the beach in Cascais and talk watches and philosophize.
At moments like this, our family expands to include people who share a special love.
…And the conclusion of the story: something good can also come out of something bad.
