The back of this Swiss-made piece is engraved with a sea lion – a fitting adaptation of the city of Zurich‘s mascot, the lion.”

During extreme diving situations, helium atoms make their way into the watch. As such, the process of decompression could dislodge the watch crystal. The helium release valve prevents this from occurring by allowing the excess pressure to escape via the valve and due to this, it is possible to dive below 300 meters. L2 Caseback
A watch like a lion, a sea lion. What animal is closely associated with people and is known for its skilful ability to dive to great depths? The sea lion. The backside of the L2 is adorned with this magnificent creature, whose manoeuvrability, elegance and function attuned to life underwater stand for a diving watch blending all of these traits. Given that the lion is the symbol of Zurich, the city that has shaped the evolution of this watch, it seems only appropriate that the sea lion should be the symbol of the Maurice de Mauriac L2. Super-LumiNova is a brand name under which strontium aluminate–based non-radioactive and non-toxic photoluminescent or afterglow pigments for illuminating markings on watch dials, hands and bezels, etc. in the dark are marketed. This technology offers up to ten times higher brightness than previous zinc sulfide-based materials. When the luminescent pigments were stimulated by daylight or artificial light, they give off the light energy in the dark for several hours. We were looking for a long time for a replacement for our old Landy, which unfortunately was no longer fit enough for the wild everyday life of watch lovers in Zurich...:-) He had this & that… and at some point we didn’t want to torture him anymore.
If you love the old Landrovers, you will eventually come to the INEOS Grenadier. The worthy successor to the original Landrovers. At first we were a bit strange. But once you have sat in this car, you are spoiled for other cars.
With him we can drive everything to our events and even the smallest watch boutiques he moves through the city and Switzerland as if they were nothing. And now we come to the quality and the mechanics – typical for watch souls: terrific!
He will now be embellished a bit and then he will drive through Zurich, bringing watches, hollowing watches, Totoro will stick his nose out of the window and it is often like in the old days, when Daniel drove through the city, many waved, conversations arose, watch fascination that jumped like sparks from one to the other. We did it! We were part of the SÄCHSILÜÜTE 2025! ⛄️💥 We can say that we are very attached to Zurich. It is our home. Zurich is the heart of our brand. Zurich is both an inspiration and a challenge.
With the Sächsilüüte, however, we have come even closer to Zurich. Not only did we create the official Sächsilüüte watch together with the ZZZ. We were also invited by Urs Bucher to walk with the @zunft_zu_wiedikon . An incredibly intense experience. 🌈💐🌸
We look back on the Sächsilüüte with our arms full of flowers and our hearts full of emotion. Thank you to everyone who experienced this day with us.
