The new Züri-Date was created in tram No. 8
Zurich is not only the company location of Maurice de Mauriac. Zurich is also the source of inspiration for the watchbros Massimo and Leonard Dreifuss. Provocations for the senses lurk everywhere. Sounds, shapes, colors, movements. Everything that the world has to offer in terms of new things can be found in Zurich shortly afterwards. A new car, a motorcycle, fashion, mobile gadgets... the financially strong Zurichers and Zurich tourists use the Zurich catwalk to show it off. And when a watch sees the light of day somewhere in the world, it pushes it to Zurich to compete with the best.
In this noisy world, however, there are also very quiet inspirations. Not in secret, but in silence. The new Züri-Date in its special colorfulness was shaped precisely by these quiet inspirations. Leonard Dreifuss likes to tell how exactly these colors came about: "On my way from the studio to Bahnhofstrasse, I crossed Paradeplatz on a Zischtig and suddenly the colors for the new Züri-Date were clear. The colors of the trams, omnipresent in Zurich, inspired me."
Massimo Dreifuss describes the design process of the new Züri-Date as special: "We kept getting on different trams at Paradeplatz, letting the colors work on us and changing them slightly again and again. In the end, we had harmonized the aesthetics of the tram colors with our aesthetics." He remembers that the colors were fixed on Zischtig around 10 p.m. in streetcar 8 just before Paradeplatz. In the tram in which the Watchbros' sister commutes between the MDM Garage and the studio. The streetcar was still squealing with delight on the last curve. A watch cannot be more Zurich.
The new Züri-Date is available with the colors of the dials corresponding, with high-quality leather strap or with steel bracelet. The dial is characterized by the day indicator at 12 o'clock in Zurich Swiss German and a magnifying glass on the date at 3 o'clock. The movement, naturally an automatic, is an ornate ETA 2834-2 movement with 25 jewels. The glass caseback gives a view of the movement, so you can watch how beautifully time passes in Zurich.

The new Züri-Date is now available in all colors and versions of the watch strap in the studio in Tödistr. 48, in the MDM Garage in Geroldstrasse 5 in Züri West (attention, opening hours!) and of course worldwide in the MDM Webshop.

The new Züri-Date builds on the success of the now sold-out Maurice de Mauriac anniversary watch - the 1st Züri-Date. The first watch with day display in Swiss German. Subsequently, Maurice de Mauriac has also already developed a variation of the watch exclusively for the NZZ.
On July 7, 2023, the Züri-Date will be launched at the Zürifaescht, which only takes place every three years. For the launch, the watch will also be available directly at the Zürifaescht on Saturday, 08.07. and Sunday, 09.07, from 17-22 hrs. Right behind the Modissa building at the market for design, fashion and jewelry from all over the world - of course in the smallest watch boutique in the world - in our yellow APE.
