There are people who wear time like an accessory.
And then there are those with whom you can sense that time is an inner pulse â something that sets the rhythm of their life. Carlos Leal belongs to the pulse category.
Musician, actor, nomad: he is an artist who doesnât think in categories, but in movements.â¨
Born in Lausanne to Spanish immigrant parents, Leal grows up in a world full of contrasts. Thereâs the warm, melodic language of his family â and the cool precision of Swiss reality. A tension that became the fertile ground for his creativity.
In the 1990s, with the hip-hop group Sens Unik, he shaped the sound of a generation. Political, poetic, multilingual â their lyrics were both manifesto and melody. Lealâs voice stood for a new beginning, for cultural diversity, for the confidence of a new Switzerland.
But instead of settling into success, he shifted tempo â toward acting. His lead role in Snow White marked his artistic breakthrough. What followed were international productions like Casino Royale, roles in Hollywood, and celebrated appearances in series such as Better Call Saul.
Lealâs path isnât a straight line, but a beautifully curved one â curves we know and love. He moves between languages, countries, and genres with the same ease as a movement guides hands across a dial.
Whether on stage, in front of the camera, or in the atelier in Zurich: Carlos Leal embodies the idea of time as a lived moment â not as an external metronome, but as an inner rhythm.â¨In our collaboration, two worlds meet that share the same principle: uncompromising authenticity, artisanal depth, and a love for crossing boundaries.
Weâre making our MDM Garage in ZĂźri West â the brandâs playground â available to Carlos for an exhibition of his photography. An artistic form of expression that connects us as well. More info under Events on our website or in our newsletter.
