Daniel Dreifuss & his two sons, Massimo and Leonard. The younger generation, since 2021 have taken the helm of the family business. They are making great progress in following their father's footsteps. Making him and themself proud.
We love what we do: mechanical watches
When Daniel Dreifuss was a banker, in New York, his life was fast. Time was money. It was at that time the financial system collapsed. However, Daniel Dreifuss did not. He turned away from money and towards time. A time staged spectacularly by mechanical watches. After many years living in New York, the man from eastern Switzerland had returned - to make base in Zurich. In 1997, he registered the Maurice de Mauriac brand. Since then, he has enjoyed the deceleration of careful watchmaking and has been internationally. Time is now love - but in a reformed way.
In 2021, he let go of what has captivated him for so many years. He retires backstage and hands over the responsibility to his sons Massimo and Leonard. Together they performed and quickly made a name for themselves in the industry - the Watchbros.

Family is the sacred concept for the Dreifuss family, however broadly defined, Therefor "Toto" is a welcome member. He is always there loyal and true. If he doesn't have a vernissage, a watch launch, or other social obligations to fulfill, Toto lies under the table in the studio at the Tödistrasse and lets his curly fur be stroked and tickled. As an Italian truffle dog, he feels extremely comfortable among the scents and sounds of the accumulated stories in the atelier.

The classic Land Rover is already a part of Zurich's cultural heritage. People wave to Daniel, Massimo or Leo, and give them their watches for servicing or ask them to come by to view the latest beauties. Customers are picked up from hotels, and homes, watches are delivered, or the Land Rover is simply parked in the sun at the best places in Zurich.
As the watch father is a colour thinker, Massimo and Leo have become one too. They think in colours, structure in colours, feel colours and hear colours. Where others only see red, they also hear and feel red. Until a leather tone is found for a watch strap, the hand colour is the way they want it, the look and feel of bronze are right. Whilst other brands might have simply developed a watch. The watch Bro’s dive into each watchcase and come out only when they have mastered every detail. Not only is this attention to detail reflected in the watches, but you also feel this passion.

Over pitch-black espresso, fresh olive bread, and other delights, Massimo and Leonard sit at their university table, feeling, smelling, looking at material and processing samples, finished watches, and ideas, which run through their heads by the hundreds. In the mean time, they grab their phones, maintaining important personal contacts with customers, suppliers, and service providers - the big brand family. Yes, they take these contacts very seriously and do not miss an opportunity to cultivate them, together with their father. This is because the Dreifuss are also collectors of people. They want to feel what their extended family dreams of, what drives them, what moves them, and what they know. From all of this, they draw ideas for new watches and watch straps. They take the pulse of the digital family and love to live and work with that rhythm.
Maurice de Mauriac's heartbeats near the famous Paradeplatz, in the atelier at Tödistrasse 48. When you encounter Maurice de Mauriac anywhere and everywhere, it is a likable, human, warm family business. In addition to Massimo and Leonard, you will sometimes also meet Daniel Dreifuss. When he is not strolling through Zurich, or driving the classic Land Rover with one of his loves, the dog ”Toto”. His wife, Claudia Ginocchio is an inspiration to him, a painter with her work in her studio two houses down. Masha, the sister of Massimo and Leonard, pays a large influence on the family business, with her youthful thoughts and vibrant personality.

Good ones, classy ones, colourful ones, quirky ones, cool ones and almost always the most suitable strap for your watch. Moreover, every strap turns your watch into a new watch.
If you ask the Watchbros Massimo and Leonard why they are this way, and take on the need for this sensual attention to detail, the answer is not really surprising: they love what they do! Like their father, who guided them for so many years. He did everything for the family. For his family. For the extended family of friends of his brand, because they are worth every effort. "The entire family is close to the brand Maurice de Mauriac, and we all learn. Connection, color, and welcoming the uniqueness of everyone, that's all you can give to your family for life," Daniel Dreifuss enthuses.

In the evening, the Watchbros say goodbye to the last customer. The new watch is unique and will go through life connected to him by a special watch strap. He is in love and happy with Maurice de Mauriac. In the background, the soft ping of an order, was placed somewhere in America via Dreifuss' webshop. Another new member of the family. A peaceful picture in Tödistrasse. Here time is not money, but love.
