Every visit to Switzerland brings watchmaking to mind. A hands-on experience is the best way to immerse yourself in the art of watchmaking. From the guided tour of the workshop and learning about the history and theory of watch assembly to the practical experience of reassembling a mechanical movement into a functioning watch, the entire experience was extremely rewarding. Masha was very communicative and helpful—from my initial inquiry and the selection of the watch to choosing the perfect strap. The course was fantastic. Going home with a watch for which I had selected all the options—the dial, complications, and so on—and, above all, helped with the final assembly was immensely rewarding!

A Fun Visit with My Son!

An excellent experience if you like watches or are simply curious. My son and I are both engineers, and we asked many questions. The watchmaker was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of them patiently. It was great to learn more about watches! The Best Watch Experience Ever

Although I am a watch enthusiast, I discovered Maurice de Mauriac without knowing much about the company, as it had escaped my attention until I arrived in Zurich. But I immediately fell in love—with the brothers Leo and Massimo, who are brilliant, fun, and embody watchmaking in the very best sense: precision, symbolism, aesthetics, heritage, and family; with the design philosophy and language; with the watches as physical objects; and with the process of selecting the case materials, dial colors, complications, and straps—customizing the watch to my own specifications. I bought two pieces because I could not choose between them. As a gift, Massimo and Leo gave me a discount on both watches, a watchmaking lesson with their watchmaker Sean—who taught me how to disassemble and reassemble a movement—as well as a keychain and straps. Between meeting Leo and Massimo, specifying my own watches, and learning how to work with them, this was undoubtedly the most meaningful watch-related experience of my life. I have not taken off my L2 since I bought it. It is brilliant. Many thanks to Massimo, Leo, Sean, and Totor, the guard dog, for a wonderful experience that I will always remember - and for the beautiful watches.

Visited the studio a few months ago while on vacation in Switzerland. I meant to write a review but it slipped my mind until I saw them again at Windup Watch Fair in NYC. They are really nice and enthusiastic about what they do. We did the workshop they offer and it was fun and interesting to learn about the inner mechanisms of watches. If you are in Zurich and have the time, I highly recommend at least stopping by!

First walked to the shop on Sunday just to window browse. To our surprise we were let in and welcomed with full hospitality, offering us a drink and giving us a place to sit. I had been in contact with their instagram account earlier in the month and their communication could not have been better. Even when I wasnt able to receive the watch immediately I they went out of their way to make it up by allowing me to participate in a watchmaking course for free. They were patient and kind. I highly recommend Maurice De Mauriac.
